At Multimedia University (MMU), it is renowned for being an excellent higher education institution in an effort to produce newer generations of leaders and quality workers. In Malaysia, there are three MMU campuses with the first built in Melaka, then in Cyberjaya and Johor. The institution first started as a catalyst in conducting research projects and development projects as well as preserving a close tie with the industry through consistent cooperation activities. At present, after many years of modification to its system, it hosts up to 13 research centres that focus on specific niche areas such as nanotechnology, microsystems, biometrics, virtual reality, microwave, and telecommunication, engineering, photonics, advanced robotics, and business.
