About
Formerly known as the International College of Automotive (ICAM), it has been renamed to DRB-HICOM University of Automative Malaysia in October 2015. A full-fledged university for local and international students, the 42-acre campus is situated in the DRB-HICOM Automative Complex in the heart of Pekan.
This local university offers 51 programmes that covers a broad field of studies such as automative technology, vehicle inspection and assembly, mechanical engineering, automotive retail management, islamic banking and finance, business administration, accounting and many more.
Striving to make a change in the today’s automative industry, the university believes in educating their students with a curriculum that emphasises the importance of theory and practicality. With the concept that is called ‘University by the industry, for the industry’, there’s no industry leader better than the DRB-HICOM group of companies to lead this practice-driven and industry-relevant curriculum; providing students with the required knowledge, practices and skills needed to graduate as a well-trained and employable professional,they recognise the need for technical knowledge and hands-on skills - two primary head starts for students to begin their journey in today’s automative industry.
Assets of the university include:
1) The distinction of being the first university in ASEAN to offer bachelor degree, master and doctoral programmes relating to the automotive ecosystem, which includes mechanical, business and management studies
2) Over 80% of students had found employment before graduation
Campus Information
The campus is built to accommodate more than 7000 students, including modern facilities, laboratories, classrooms and workshops for hands-on practical training. The campus is also equipped with a Chancellery Hall, student accommodation as well as outdoor sports facilities with 2 futsal courts, and other courts for tennis, sepak takraw, netball and volleyball.
