About
Based in Egham, the Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) is a constituent college of the University of London since 1900. It is one of the top research-led universities in the UK.
The college is made up by three faculties (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Management and Economics, and Faculty of Science), 18 academic departments, offering a huge range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. RHUL is considered one of the UK's top universities. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012, the college ranked 15th in the UK, 36th in Europe, and 107th globally.
Campus Information
RHUL's 135-acre campus is equipped with state-of-the-art study facilities, such as library, research and IT laboratories, studios, a 400-seat auditorium, theatre and etc. The campus also provides on-site accommodation, with restaurant and dining hall. A bank, shops, cafés and bars, the sports centre and playing fields can be found within the campus.
The campus is based in the village Englefield Green, it is only a ten-minute walk from the town Egham. London is only 20 miles away, it is easily reached by a train or bus ride.
Accomodation
You can choose from a wide variety of on-campus Halls accommodation, within a few minutes walk of all the teaching and social facilities, as well as an off-campus Halls option only one mile away.
Halls vary greatly in size, appearance, age and atmosphere, from the unique character of the Victorian Founder's Building, which has just undergone refurbishment, to more modern residences such as Williamson, Tuke & Butler.
You also have the option of choosing catered-pay-as-you-go or self-catered Halls. As a resident in a catered hall, you are entitled to a discount of approximately 50 per cent off the normal price of the majority of food items you purchase in the residence's Dining Hall (please note that meals are not included in the published accommodation rates).
You can also opt for mixed or single-sex designated areas. Many of our halls include adapted rooms, making them suitable for students with special needs. We have a policy in place that also allows medical priority for student accommodation applications.
