Campus Information 

De Montfort University offers a wide range of student and staff facilities from its 6,000 square metres size. The university has ten modern halls of residence which houses 3,000 university-sourced rooms for accommodation. Among the facilities provided are retail outlets, university catering, office base, entertainment venues, state-of-the-art dance and theatre facilities, the John Sandford Sports Centre, exhibition halls, conference facilities and many more. 

The university houses the Kimberlin Library, which provides a 24-hour access to students, and offers a learning zone with more than 180 study places. The university also recently opened The Greenhouse, which is another learning zone with 200 study spaces. Additionally, De Montfort University also has its own law library. Among the facilities offered for student work and practices are resource rooms, a newsroom, a digital Music Technology recording studio, labs, performance areas, digital and fine art studios, workshops, specialist centres, mock courtroom, law library, law clinic, and many more.

The Leicester campus is located near to the Leicester Castle complex, and is an approximately ten-minute walk from Leicester city centre. Attractions include the National Space Centre, Curve theatre, Highcross Shopping Centre, and a wide array of cafe's, bars, pubs, restaurants and others. Leicester is just off the M1 and close to the A1, allowing easy access to the North and South. The M69 and M6 are also close by and offer access to Birmingham, Wales and the South West. East Midlands International Airport is less than half an hour away and Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted airports are all within reach.

Travelling options:

  • By Car: using Sat Nav, use postcode LE2 7DP. This will direct the destination to the centre of the campus.
  • By cycling: There is a marked network of cycle routes across the city. The bike park in Town Hall Square allows fellow students to leave their bike safely and even take a shower or change a tyre if necessary.
  • Public Transport: High-speed train links connect Leicester to London and many other large towns and cities, while bus and coach services provide a great value and reliable connections across Leicester to most parts of the UK. Park-and-ride services are also provided in the city.
Accomodation 

Starting 2014/15, for new UK and International undergraduates, there are approximately 2,100 rooms in eight halls of residence based on or near campus; all within walking distance of the city centre and local amenities. De Montfort University is signed up to the UUK Student Accommodation Code of practice. This code is for universities and protects our students rights to safe, good quality accommodation. It outlines everything students can expect from the accommodation as well as their responsibilities as tenants. The privately managed halls are all signed up to the ANUK National Code which is the equivalent code for private halls.
