About 

The University of East Anglia (UEA) was opened in 1963, one of the sixties generation of universities. It is now an internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 14,000 students. The University offers over 300 courses across four Faculties and 23 Schools of Study including Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Social Sciences. 

UEA is the first UK university to offer courses in Creative writing, Environmental Sciences and Development Studies, and champion of interdisciplinary subjects. UEA has been ranked in the top two per cent of universities in the world and is consistently in the top ten for student satisfaction. It is a leading member of the Norwich Research Park, one of Europe’s biggest concentrations of researchers in the fields of environment, health and plant science.

Campus Information 

Sporting facilities are available on campus include the University Sportspark which houses an Olympic sized swimming pool and regularly hosts international sporting events. UEA also has the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. UEA Campus also boasts a post office, banks, coffee shops, canteens, shops, bars, a book shop and a launderette, so should be able to provide most of the things that students need on a day-to-day basis.

UEA is situated at Norwich, heart of Norfolk. There is plenty on offer within easy reach of the city. Miles of unspoilt coastline are just a 40 minute car journey or cheap bus ticket away. London is only 2 hours away by train or car - trains to London depart every 30 minutes, and Norwich International Airport is only 15 minutes from the city centre and has links worldwide via four daily flights to Amsterdam.

On-Campus
Our award-winning on-campus accommodation sits mere minutes from our impressive teaching and research facilities on a vibrant campus akin to an internationally diverse city with shops, music venues, art galleries, libraries, cafés and many others. We provide great value, quality accommodation as rated across the UK's top 30 universities, a typical residence providing fully furnished, centrally heated, single or twin-bedded rooms grouped round a shared kitchen. All the accommodation is self-catering, but if you feel like a change from cooking for yourself, there are plenty of places to eat and drink on campus. All study rooms are connected to the University computer network for free and fast access to the internet. 

Off-Campus
Norwich is a safe and beautiful place to live. With a huge private rental market offering great value properties all over the city, there is sure to be the perfect place for you. UEA is here to help and advise even if you are living off-site and so please contact the Student Union Advice Centre for details of houses, flats, bedsits and lodgings available for rental in the private sector. The SUAC can also give you access to an online 'housing list', as well as offering general advice and information. However, it is your responsibility to deal directly with the agent or landlord when making accommodation arrangements.
