It has built itself a name in the fields of arts, social science, Celtic studies, business, public policy and law, engineering and informatics, medicine, nursing and health sciences, and science.

Students at NUI Galway are also encouraged to stay active and maintain a vibrant spirit by joining in either of the 50 available sports clubs, 110 active societies and other links to volunteering organisations. Several of these societies also include

  • Artistic & Performing Societies
  • Academic Societies
  • Debating and Political Societies
  • Social Action/Religious Societies
  • Social and Gaming Societies

There is a wide range of course programmes that cover undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma qualifications that meet international standards, and thus, students are more equipped with options to build in their personal and academic development. Furthermore, students will also obtain the required set of skills and knowledge to succeed and contribute to the working industry of their choice. Other than that, for those who are interested, they can embark on conducting world-class research programmes in the growing fields such as biomedical engineering science, environmental and marine sciences, information technology, human rights, and even Irish studies. Students will also be pleased to know that NUI Galway offers students with research-based and postgraduate programmes.
