About 

Dundalk Institute of Technology is a 90 acre campus situated between Dublin and Belfast (each approximately 50 miles away). The campus is 1/2 mile from the main Dublin Belfast road and 3 minutes drive from the M1 motorway to Dublin. Dublin Airport is a 35 minute drive by car. Dundalk is served by the Dublin Belfast Train corridor and Dundalk's Clarke Station is approximately a 20 minute walk (or 6 euro taxi ride) from the campus.

Campus Information 

Dundalk Institute of Technology has four Schools, and each School has several Departments with many courses (or ' programmes ') on offer. You can also study part-time at the Lifelong Learning Centre or apply for one of the many apprenticeships on offer (through the School of Engineering).

School of Business and Humanities
The School of Business and Humanities is the largest School in DkIT with many new and imaginative programmes being developed continually.

School of Engineering
The School of Engineering at DkIT equips graduates to follow a diverse range of exciting career paths. Engineering provides careers and engineers apply scientific principles to solve problems for the advancement of mankind.

School of Informatics and Creative Arts
The School of Informatics and Creative Arts has a diverse range of single, inter and multi-disciplinary courses on offer in the areas of computing, creative media and technologies as well as music.

School of Health and Science
The School of Health and Science here in DkIT was formed in 2004 and consists of almost 1200 students. We offer an exciting range of programmes ranging from Level 6 to Level 10 in a friendly and supportive environment.

Dundalk enjoys a great location, strategically located approximately midway between, and fifty miles from the two largest cities in the island of Ireland, Belfast and Dublin.

Dundalk Town has a population of 35,085 (2006 Census, CSO) which is estimated to grow to 60,000 by 2020.  Within a 30 mile radius, the catchment area grows to 482,000 and this increases to in excess of 3 million within a 50 mile radius.

All of this is complimented by the outstanding beauty of the Cooley Peninsula which provides a stunning backdrop for the County Louth town.

Getting to DkIT:

Buses travel on either daily or weekly schedules from all the main centres in the region. The main Bus Eireann station in Dundalk is approximately a 15 minute walk from the campus.

    35-40 minute journey of approx 40 miles.
  • Bus
    Buses Travel directly from Dublin Airport to Dundalk. There is also a bus from the airport that stops right outside the college.
  • Train Services
    Dundalk is served by the mainline train route between Belfast and Dublin.Trains run daily. The Institute is a 25 minute walk from Dundalk's Clarke Train station. 
Accomodation 

Purpose-built student apartments, with spaces for approx 550 students are a short walk from the main campus. There is also a large supply of newly built apartments and houses, suitable for renting, beside the campus.
