About

Applying basic scientific and technological principles to design and construction, civil engineering's effective practice requires strong foundations in mathematical and physical sciences, understanding properties of materials like steel, concrete and natural aggregates; and the ability to evaluate structure performance under different loadings.

It also necessitates close working relationships with other parties involved - planners, architects, environmental scientists- and appreciates impact of civil works on community under social obligations and finances; training to manage resources, equipment, materials and money.

As a comprehensive course, it combines civil and construction engineering, offering job mobility with support and collaboration from the industry - professional and practical-orientated.
